A short walk from the famous Sligachan Falls is a hidden gem – perfect for a (freezing!) afternoon dip. We stopped here after a day visiting Loch Coruisk.

7. Enjoy a lunch tasting menu and Edinbane Lodge

The chef, a local, skillfully incorporates the best island and Highland ingredients, complemented by local crockery (Visit Edinbane Pottery just next door!), to create a delightful multi-course dinner menu. Scorrybreac Walk – A shorter walk by the shore of the beautiful Portree Bay, enjoy views out across the sea to the Island of Raasay.

Bring your camera as this walk offers a chance to see the Sea Eagles that nest on the high cliffs nearby. Makes a perfect after dinner walk on a long summers evening.

9. Visit Dinosaur Footprints

It’s just a short walk from the road, park up and visit on your way to Talisker Bay. It’s a must-visit spot for serene beauty in Skye’s wilderness.

11. Talisker Bay

Talisker Bay is situated on the west coast of Skye, approximately 13 kilometers west of the village of Carbost. It can be accessed via a scenic drive along winding roads.

One of the highlights of Talisker Bay is its enchanting waterfall. The waterfall cascades down the cliffs directly onto the beach, creating a stunning natural spectacle. The sight and sound of the rushing water against the backdrop of the beach and ocean make it a photographer’s paradise. Best viewed after heavy rainfall.

The walk to the bay is around 30-40 mins. Drive as far as you can and follow the path through woodland, farmland and beautiful scenery.

Neist Point Lighthouse is known for its stunning views, but Skye’s weather can be unpredictable. Be prepared for changing conditions and bring appropriate clothing, including layers and waterproof gear. Additionally, check the weather forecast before your visit to maximize your chances of clear views and enjoyable hiking conditions.
To fully appreciate Neist Point Lighthouse, plan your visit during the optimal times of day. Sunrise and sunset offer beautiful lighting and atmospheric views. Consider arriving early in the morning or staying until evening to witness the breathtaking colors of the sky and capture memorable photographs.While the main viewpoint near the parking area provides a great view of the lighthouse, consider exploring the surrounding area by taking the path down to the lower cliffs. This will offer a unique perspective and allow you to fully appreciate the dramatic coastline and the lighthouse from different angles. Just remember to stay safe and be cautious when navigating the cliffs.

13. Rha Waterfalls
