1. Edinbane Lodge restaurant
Best fine dining restaurants on Isle of Skye
Perfect for lunch or dinner. We enjoyed a delicious fine-dining lunch and would strongly recommend this place to any foodies out there. The food is amazing and the service excellent. 2. The Oyster Shed
Best places to eat and drink on Isle of Skye
The Oyster Shed offers a variety of seafood and specialises in fresh oysters. Try a couple of fresh oysters followed by the lobster and chips and you won’t be disappointed! Perfect for a casual lunch stop. Park at the Talisker Distillery and then walk up the hill.They do have a small car park, however it only has a few spaces. There’s no toilets so stop off across the road from the Talisker.
3. The Three Chimneys restaurant
Best places to eat and drink on Isle of Skye
Perfect for dinner. The Three Chimneys restaurant is around 40 minutes from Portree and if you don’t fancy driving you can get a taxi (they also have rooms so why not stay for a night?). A delicious menu and the ingredients are all locally sourced. 4. Birch
Best coffee on Isle of Skye
Perfect for lunch or a quick coffee stop in the heart of Portree. Serving up specialty coffee this delightful little coffee shop also offers lunch snacks including soup and bakery items.
5. Scorrybreac restaurant
Best places to eat and drink on Isle of Skye
Perfect for dinner. If you enjoy fine dining book the Scorrybreac restaurant in Portree. It only has 5 tables and books up quickly. It’s a very filling meal so a great option for those who love fine dining but perhaps prefer slightly larger portions than the usual bitesize courses. 6. Loch Bay
Michelin Star restaurant on Isle of Skye
Perfect for lunch or dinner. Loch Bay restaurant situated in Stein, Waternish cooks a multiple-course menu showcasing the shellfish and fish caught locally in the loch and the waters around Skye. Open Tuesdays until Saturdays, complete an enquiry form on the Loch Bay website for booking. Price is £110 per person.
7. The Wee Slice
Best places for lunch on Isle of Skye
Ideal for lunch. This small blue seafood van just next to Elgol pier offers a host of seafood snacks and sandwiches. If they have any of the lobster rolls left (they sell out fast) then definitely try these! Alternatively, the seafood salad is also delicious. If the weather’s nice find a spot beside the shore or enjoy the views while eating from your car. A perfect place for lunch if visiting Elgol and after your Misty Isle boat trip to Loch Coruisk.
8. Cocktails at Cuillin Hills Hotel
Best places for cocktails on Isle of Skye
Perfect for drinks with a view. If you’re staying in Portree the Cuillin Hills Hotel lawn is a great place for drinks after a day exploring Skye (the cocktails are lovely). No booking required, it’s first come first serve. Simply rock up and see if there are any chairs free, sit down and ‘scan and order’ using the QR code on your table. There’s a couple of benches on the left hand-side of the lawn out-of-sight behind the bushes so check there if it’s busy! The Cuillin Hills Hotel geodome is also pretty cool – walk down the steps at the front of the lawn and have a drink inside if no one else is there! With stunning views over Portree Harbour it’s a beautiful setting for watching the sun set and enjoying a cocktail (or local beer) or two!
9. Live music and drinks at Edinbane Inn

Perfect for casual food, drinks and atmosphere. Offering live Scottish Music on Sundays and a unique experience their bar and restaurant venue this place is perfect for Sunday dinner and a few drinks offering real ales, handpump cider, malt whisky and all your other usual drinks.
